Ricky Kej from Bangalore has won a Grammy for the third time for his album “Divine Tides” at the 65th annual Grammy Awards. He is only music composer from India to win Grammy thrice.
The bangalore-based dentist turned Music Composer Ricky Kej wins the Grammy Award for the 3rd time at the 65th annual Grammy Awards. He becomes the only Indian music composer to achieve this feat. His ‘Divine Tides’ album, has won the award in the Best Immersive Audio Album category. This song was Kej’s collaborative project with rock legend and Police drummer Stewart Copeland. Also, so far only 4 Indians have been able to win Grammy Award from India, and Ricky Kej is amongst the youngest of the awardees.
Post winning the award, Ricky opened about the news to his fans via his twitter handle which stated “Just won my 3rd Grammy Award. Extremely grateful, am speechless! I dedicate this Award to India. @copelandmusic Herbert Waltl Eric Schilling Vanil Veigas Lonnie Park.”
Ricky Kej is also an environmentalist who advocates for the conservation of our mother nature. ‘Divine Tides’, is an album featuring musicians from around the world and has a message in a similar direction of nature conservation.
