Amazon Music subscribers to see hike in the fee from Feb 21 onwards

The music streaming platform from the e-commerce giant AMAZON will hike the subscription charges from 21st Feb 2023 onwards.

As per the latest official announcement from the E-commerce giant Amazon, the prices for its existing subscription plans are to undergo a hike from February 2023. The update was shared via the FAQ page of the company’s website.

There is a difference of $1 in the new plan. As per the revelations, the ‘Unlimited Individual Plan’ will be increased to $10.99 and that of the ‘Unlimited Student Plan’ will go up to $5. per month. The customer will be able to see the updated bill from 21 Feb onwards over their dashboard.

With the growing popularity of Nonfiction shows, streaming services are trying to maximize their profit in the category. The podcast is another interesting domain which is seen a steady rise in the listener base. Going by the media reports, new formats of delivering non-fiction content are likely to come up attracting new subscriptions.
However, the global layoff scenarios looming over and the rising operational cost could be undeniably a major reason for the rise in subscription charges. With this, it is yet to be seen whether other competitors like Spotify, iTunes, and others follow the suit.
