Beatoven.ai, India’s first AI-backed music tech startup eyes on rapid expansion with growing creators’ demand

Beatoven.ai is India’s first AI-backed music tech startup which aims to solve music licensing problems for content creators with hassle-free assortment of multi-genre music.

Bangalore-based Beatoven.ai is India’s first AI-backed music tech start-up was launched in February 2021 by Siddharth Bhardwaj and Mansoor Rahimat Khan. The two IIIT-Allahabad alumni shared the same vision of helping rapidly growing content creators base with music licensing issues. The start-up helps music composers in developing royalty-free tracks in a much easier way with the help of technology without losing the essence of the music.

The technology behind the platform

The AI technology that is integrated with the platform analyses the music data via its deep-learning network. The platform has a huge collection of samples from the musician. When a user enters his/her requirement of the music, suppose a 60 seconds track, for instance,
This AI system helps creators with its deep-learning networks, which help users analyze complex or per se large music data. For instance, if a user requires a one-minute track, this AI will track approximately 10 seconds to generate five options. The user can choose among the 5 options that the AI as music composer comes up with. It does it after a big data analysis done after the arrangement of all the samples from different artists.

As per the statement of the founders, the startup aims to revolutionize the sector by making it easy and affordable for millions of creators while keeping it all royalty-free, and easily customizable basis the varying requirements. The company shall have all the rights to the music created and the creators can use the music in their work without any need to pay the royalty. The users of the platform shall need to pay a subscription for availing of the services though.

Primary with a focus on Indian Classical music, the company is now expanding its library with ethnic music from the countries like China, Korea, Latin America, and others. The platform helps the creators/freelancers in their track mixing and mastering journey too. The first album that was released by the platform, as per the founders, is Hello World in the year 2018. Mr. Francois Pachet was the musician and tech researcher behind the album.

Subscription Fee

The platform comes with 3 different subscription plans; USD 20/month, USD 40/month, and USD 100/month. The first is for individual creators, the second for agencies, and 3rd for the production houses respectively.

As per the start-up, India has huge demands for music as the content creators are to pass the 6 lakh figure thus giving fertile ground for the company to expand its business. Beatoven.ai raised $1 million as part of its seed round from Redstart Labs, a subsidiary of Info Edge and UK-based Entrepreneur First in the year 2022. And as per the sources, the company has more than 2000 musicians associated with the startup, helping in creating a vast library of music samples.
