HYDERABAD: Management of Night Clubs in the city has found a major relief after a division bench of Telangana High Court has lifted the incumbent ban on playing music post 10 PM. After residents near the establishments filed a complaint that the loud music post 10 PM is causing a disturbance and even guests coming into the parking lot create trouble for the locals. Taking cognizance of the matter a single judge passed orders to stop the playing of music in clubs and discs post 10 PM citing it as a violation of the Noise (Pollution) Regulation Act and ordered police authorities to take stringent actions against those flouting the orders.

After the management of the night clubs filed a petition before the high court, the bench observed that the previous order was passed by a single judge. Also, they took cognizance of the fact that Hyderabad is a city with a burgeoning youth population from pan India which forms the city’s major workforce. And the lifestyle too is undergoing major change. Hence, imposing such a restriction on clubs is unfair. The case is still being closely studied.

Hence, the bench comprising Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, and Justice C.V. Bhaskar Reddy has decided to convert all the petitions and appeals before the single judge previously into public interest litigations. The matter as of now stands adjourned till November 17.
