Spotify has announced that Miley Cyrus’ Flowers has shattered all its previous records of most streamed song in a week. This is Cyrus’ first massive win in last 10 years.
On Thursday, Jan 12; 2023 major Music streaming platform Spotify announced that Miley Cyrus’ ”Flowers” has smashed all the previous existing records for the most streamed song in a single week in the history of Spotify. The number of streams that showed up on Spotify’s website was 101,838,799 and it, as per Spotify reached the coveted 100 million mark faster than any other song in the history of the platform ever did.
The previous record was held by BTS for the song ”Butter” which touched the nearly 100 million mark, however, many put an asterisk mark to highlight the suspicion of artificially inflated figures. “Flowers” now is seen in competition with SZA’s hit ”Kill Bill”. The song is performing equally well on other streaming platforms like iTunes where it is seen unbudging from the top spot since its release.
”Flowers” as per the experts is set to reach the top spot in the Hot 100 Mark and this is to be seen whether it surpasses Cyrus’ previous hit a decade back- ” Party in the USA” which has 1.1 billion Spotify streams till date. The song was able to rise till number 2 in the Hot 100 in the year 2009.
